Counseling

At Good Samaritan Ministries, Counseling is deeply relational. We don't fix broken things; we come alongside those who are hurting and make ourselves fully present -- walking with them through the challenges of life. We listen without judgement, deeply connect, and gently minister.

The counseling process can be short and straightforward, or it can be long and complex. It involves two or more people traveling together: one who is hurting, overwhelmed, or in need, and the other as a willing helper who chooses to walk alongside and offer companionship, support, or guidance. The journey together is finished when the person in need is able to continue on alone.

The goal of counseling is not to come to a point where we are "fixed" or have no more problems or pain -- unfortunately, that's not possible in this life. There will always be circumstances and people outside of our control who might hurt or harm us. Instead, the goal of counseling is to find healing for the harm that has already happen to us, and learn how to navigate problems or pain when it surfaces again so we don't stay stuck in it.

Our Counseling Services

We offer a wide variety of counseling services for all walks of life, including:

  • Individual Counseling

  • Couples Counseling

  • Marriage Counseling

  • Family Counseling

  • Children's Counseling

All of our services are 100% donation based. Just like the Good Samaritan in Luke 10, we believe that healing is for every person -- regardless of their circumstances or background. This means that we will never charge fees or payment in exchange for our services.

Instead, we simply ask that those who receive care from our counselors and teachers consider donating to the ministry to give others the same opportunity for healing. While we are profoundly grateful for any donations we receive, we will never turn away anyone who is not able to donate.

This ministry 100% funded by donations. While we don't sell services or products to cover operating costs, we do rely on the generosity of our communities to support us. So thank you for being a part of that community. Your support keeps us going.
